FO - Friday

This is the finished baby blanket, huzzah!  Just in the nick of time because the shower is next weekend.

The last little bit will be the attachment of that blasted bat on the orange hood - if I can actually finish it.

WIP - Wednesday

Today we have a little bat it's for the hood of a hooded baby blanket I mentioned in a previous post.

I'm having difficulty with this pattern, it's going to be something I work all the way through as opposed to putting down and picking back up.

WIP - Wednesday

Alright, my whole work life revolves around having low WIP as a way to focus in on work and get it done faster.  I do realize that sometimes I get bored…but I must focus on this project as it has a deadline.

I’m not sure you can tell, but there’s been quite a bit of progress since last week.  I’ve only another few inches to go before it’s time for hood, trim and gifting.

Here’s a picture with my foot for size reference

FO Friday

So, I'm nowhere near done with the baby blanket, so I am including a project I finished a little bit ago.  It was created for a Facebook "challenge" creating five things for "random" people.  It wasn't really random, it was the first five to respond to the note.

I made a Despicable Me minion for someone...it was quite a hit and have requests to make a bunch more.  Since I've always liked making toys in crochet it's not that big a deal but they can become time consuming at the assembly stage.

WIP - Wednesdays: Hooded Textured Baby Blanket

Someone tell me if I'm not doing this right, M-Kay?

I'm working on a baby blanket for a couple I know through our love of Halloween.  So I thought I'd make this lovely hooded baby blanket that's a Lion's Brand Yarn pattern, 90265AD, which you can get free through their site.

This is what is should look like.....

However, this is my HALLOWEEN friend, so of course I wanted to make it black...and orange.  Well, as I was itching to make it now, NOW, NOoOOOOooOOWWW...I ran to JoAnn's, they had no natural fibers in black, so I went with Lion's Fishermen's Wool in "Brown Heather" which looks remarkably gray...dark gray, at that....to me.

I made a mistake at the beginning, which I'm sure no one will notice once I put on the bright orange edging and hood.  Well, even if they notice they won't mention it, I'm sure.

So, happy Halloween-ing in a spooky, warm, wool blankie.

My Crafting Blog

Since Ravelry asks - I decided to create a separate blog on my crocheting and other crafts.  This is post one...I'll be following the template others have used...stay tuned for WIP Wed.
